In the 19th century, Molivos was a prominent town with Magistrate of Justice, Legal office and a lively trade in the port, under the rule of the Turks."BETTY'S RESTAURANT", an original historical house, was built by a Turkish Pasha in
1880.
By the 1920's the Turks had left the island and the new owner was a Greek lady who an the house as the first hotel in Molivos. In her employ as a domestic servant, was a young girl, a deaf mute called Dimitroula. She was a loyal and hardworking girl and all secrets were safe with her. Any village gossip was avoided. In time the house was left to Dimitroula and she lived there alone for years with her many cats. The Nasos family fed Dimitroula her meals and looked in on her safety. Due to neglect the house was slowly becoming a ruin. In 1999,Betty and Steve from the Nasos family saved this historical house with a total restore of the original design. They’ve created a 3-storey restaurant with a relaxing and beautiful Greek ambience and they have established themselves for the traditional family cooking and their hospitality.
